Another Adoption Story!

Here is another adoption story, but this one is different, and I won't give anything else away, please read it, here is the link http://members.shaohannahshope.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Landingpage_Nilsen.

The reason it stood out to me so much is because The Nilsen's didn't even desire to have biological children like most couples do, instead they wanted to adopt all of their children. I feel the same way and have for a while. Why bring someone else into the world when there are thousands of children who don't have a family, the attention they need, and may not even have food to eat. We need to reach out and help the precious children that are already on this earth. This is my opinion anyway. Enjoy the story!

A blog that everyone should read!

Over the past week or so I have been reading the blog of Eileen Mestas it is called Job's Daughters. If anyone has not read the inspiring story of their 5 adopted children you are missing out on a huge blessing. Here is her blog, http://www.jobsdaughters.blogspot.com/. Please read it, even if you have already read it again. It is a wonderful and faith filled story, and really encouraged me. She talks also about an Orphanage for older boys that is in Ethiopia and she has fallen in love with the boy's there and is like a mom to them, which is a big deal since they don't have anyone to call mom. She also is helping them out with donations and support. I think this is just wonderful and I am so glad that God brought her there, because now after reading her blog I have begun to have a heart for the older orphans and realized helping them is so important because if we don't help them they will be on the streets when they age out, because they won't be able to find a job. So they need our help! Most people just think of the young orphans and just disregard the older ones. They are the forgotten boys of Kolfe. Let's change that for them and all the other orphans who are considered older. God commanded us to look after all the orphans not just the younger ones. I hope that you are encouraged to make a difference, like I am, after reading Job's Daughter's.

New Blog Title!

I changed the title of my blog to something more meaningful. "Sharon's Page" was a little too simple. I hope this doesn't confuse anyone!

Music Video by SCC

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY_FpV05n-c

This is a great song and video that is all about orphans. It is from the orphan's prospective and it is very unique. The ending is so exciting, and if you watch closely you will see Steven, Mary-Beth, and Shaoey walking down the beach. After I saw that I realized that the little Chinese girl that was in the video, looks like it is Shaoey as well.

Saving Levi

This is a great video summerizing Levi's story. If you haven't read this book you should, it truly is life changing. It is so awesome to know that with God all things are possible, and even if there seems to be no way, He will find a way.

An Eye Opening Video

This video really made me realize how much we have and take for granted. We have homes we have food and we have water to drink. We need to be grateful for what we have and learn to take what we have and give to others who don't have anything. And a lot of people say this and never do anything about it. But I don't want to be that way, and I pray that God helps me to find a way to help these people.

Teaching Young Children

I just got this book today, and I wanted to share it with everyone. It is a great story for young children. For all who work with kids or teach them, this is a great way to open there eyes to the fact that there are children just like them in the world that don't have a mommy or a daddy or really anyone to love them. It is a good discussion starter, and it will really get the kids thinking.

A Great Story

Check out this link about a great story of a little girl who has a heart for helping orphans.
