What if He meant YOU?

"And yet all too often we sit and we wait...

For someone else to take care of the problem...

For someone else to give...

For someone else to serve...

For someone else to do something about it...

And we excuse ourselves of our individual responsibility.

When perhaps He was talking to us all along..."

"Make It Me, Lord"

Here's the link for the blog post I got this from:  http://blog.showhope.org/2011/06/22/make-it-me-lord/

Brittany Baker wrote this song, “Make It Me, Lord” for a little girl named Dreena and another little boy she met at Maria’s Big House of Hope.
Pulling into a ‘Great Big House’ on Father’s Day night
Hoping to SEE the needs of the orphans plight
But when she called me ‘Mama,’ then my heart did break
All they need is a family; who will fight for their sake?
Make it me Lord; take my hands.
I may be broken Jesus, but I’ll fulfill your commands.
Help me live out your example of love,
That they may know it comes from above.
Walking into a small room with mats on the floor
Seeing so many children that are broken and poor
But when I put the boy down, he reached up to me
All they need is a family to love unconditionally.
Make it me Lord; take my hands.
I may be broken Jesus, but I’ll fulfill your commands.
Help me live out your example of love,
That they may know it comes from above.
The needs are so great; our hands are so small.
Give us ears to hear Your specific call.
Make it me Lord; take my hands.
I may be broken Jesus, but I’ll fulfill your commands.
Help me live out your example of love,
That they may know it comes from above.
That they may know it comes from above.

Wow! This is good!!

"Most often people's reasons for being unable to adopt relates to the standard of comfort that they think they deserve... Are they really hearing God's voice or is that he American Dream yelling in their ear?"

Forgive Me - Foolish Things Lyrics

Forgive me when my prayers have come to you.
Grosser than the things confessed.
And reaking with emptiness.
Forgive me when religions been my God.
And all that I did denies you are there.
But your there...

Did I forget you were listening?
Could I deceive the one who's given me my heart?

Forgive me when I've come to pray to You, Just to get it done before I run away from You.
Forgive me When I've merely said the words and severed devotion from all of my motion.

Did I forget you were listening?
Could I deceive the One who's given me my heart?
Did I forget you were listening?
Could I deceive the One who's given me my heart?

It took Your blood to take me to the place
where I can meet you face to face.
So let me claim the promise true
and bring myself to talk to you as real...
To talk to you as Real

Did I forget you were listening?
Yeah, Could I deceive the one who's given me my heart?
Did I forget what You've given me?
Did I forget You were livin' in my heart?
Livin' in my heart...

Forgive me when my prayers have come to you.
Grosser than the things confessed.
And reaking with emptiness.

Sunday Snapshot: Luke

This is my first Sunday Snapshot.

I figured I'd join the fun! :)

I've never met Luke, but I can tell he's a silly boy!

I love to see him smiling or making silly faces for a picture!

I've heard he's quite a shy little boy.

But, if you get to know him he will come out of his shell.

(Sounds a lot like me!)

Luke is 4 years old and he's been through a lot in that amount of time. He is doing well now (medically), which is amazing!

The one thing he still needs, though, is a family. Yes, he does live in a great facility and they may even be his "family" for now, but that's not enough. He needs the love of a father and mother and siblings.

God has amazing plans for Luke, I do not doubt that at all. But, my prayer is that a family will feel God's calling toward this precious little boy, and that they would make him their son.

Will you join me in praying for Luke?
