Christmas Update

I know it's been a while, (sorry) but I wanted to update everyone on what's been happening with me:

First off, I want thank you for your continued prayer and encouragement during this season in my life. The past 9 months (since returning home from YWAM) have not been an easy transition, to say the least, but God has taught me so much through it all. Also, He has blessed me more than I could have imagined. It has been refreshing to be home with friends and family once again. I am working as a nanny again, with the family I was with before. They now have 3 adorable little boys, and have opened their home to me. I am incredibly blessed to be a part of their life! Since I get the summers off from nannying, I plan on returning to Uganda! The plans are beginning to come together, and I couldn't be more excited! I also know some people that are interested in joining me! So, at this point I need to decide if I will be leading my own trip, or going with an organization that works in Uganda.

If you could, keep me in your prayers as I plan this trip, that the details would begin to come together and all the glory would go to God! Also, I've been experiencing some pain, due to a pinched nerve in my neck, since coming home in March. At this point there hasn't been much improvement, even with regular visits to the Chiropractor. I am really hoping this won't interfere with my plans to return to Uganda, but if I'm still experiencing the same amount of pain it would be very hard to travel. So please be praying that the pain will be gone before the summer. Thank you!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love, Sharon

Next Steps

So, I've been home a month now and I've been praying about what God has for me next. It's been a very stressful and challenging time, missing my friends and trying to plan my future. God has been so faithful even though I wasn't willing to truly give everything up and of course it was a struggle to just plan everything on my own and not really involve Him. But, even through all this He has given me the desires of my heart! He is an amazing Heavenly Father, by the way! Tomorrow I go back to work at a daycare that I was working at before I moved to Wisconsin. I will work there until the Fall when I will go back to nannying for the family I was with before (they had another little one, so I will be watching 3 boys now). And I will have even have next summer off, so I'm hoping to do more mission work at that time. I am so excited to be working with these people again! I am thankful I get to continue to build relationships with them and tell them about what God has done in my life in the past 7 months! I am so blessed! Thanks for all your prayers and encouragements throughout this time!

What now?

For the past 6 months I have been training to do mission work with Youth With a Mission in Madison, Wisconsin. I was also so blessed to be able to go love on children at risk in Uganda for 2 of those months for my outreach! It was such an amazing experience!

(You can see stories, videos, and pictures here: http://sendmelordillgo.blogspot.com/).
During this time I have really learned a lot and I am so thankful God has given me these opportunities! I am so blessed! He has been teaching me so much about His love for me and how He is my Heavenly Father, who is always perfect and gives me so many unexpected blessings.

I am heading home next week to rest, reconnect with family and friends, and pray about what God has next for me. If you can, please keep me in your prayers for that. I have several opportunities that I am considering for the future. I want to serve full-time in missions at some point, but I know I first need to be home for a season. All of the opportunities sound great, and I'd be willing to do any of them, but I want to do what is best and whatever will bring the most glory to my Creator.

A special thanks to all my supporters for playing a part in this! Without you all this would not be possible! I praise God for you and pray for you often.

Continue to check back here and look for updates on what God is leading me to next. Thanks!
