Sweet Luke

(Can he be any cuter?)

Luke is 3 years old, born March 9, 2007.

His special need is: Single Ventricle and Pulmonary Stenosis.

He has had one successful heart surgery in the past, and may be a candidate for a second surgery in the future. He is growing and doing very well. He enjoys going to preschool and playing with his friends (Tristan, Adrian, and Lexi). He is a smart kid and a fast learner. He is a little quiet, but very active.

Lyric Friday

LET YOUR KINGDOM COME
Aaron Ivey, Matt Carter. ©2009 IVEYMUSIC. (ASCAP)
Give us a love for peace
Move us to brokenness
Our generosity
release from poverty
Your Kingdom here and now
To the least of these
Distribute what we have
That all may taste and see
Let Your Kingdom come
Let Your will be done
And all the Eart will say
And echo angels’ praise
That You are God
So, let the sick run free
The orphan find her home
The captured man will know
Release from slavery
Your Kingdom here and now
To the least of these
Distribute what we have
That all may taste and see
Let Your Kingdom come
Let Your will be done
And all the Eart will say
And echo angels’ praise
That You are God
We pray and ask for hope
We pray and ask for peace
We pray and ask for justice
We pray and ask for You

I Met Him!

Last night I got to meet William!!!!! I still can't believe it! I was distracted and my mind went blank when I was talking with them, but still it was amazing! He waved at me, talked a little, sat and looked in the camera for longer than I expected him to, smiled (his oh so sweet smile!), and even said goodbye to me (or at least waved on his own). I will remember this forever! I never would have dreamed it could happen! For next time I know he likes to sing "The Wheels on the Bus", so I can't wait to sing it with him and watch him do the motions! I was told he can sing that song in English and Bridget said he was singing it the other day to himself! He is doing great with his family and I will be posting on their blog for them soon, since they are not able to get on blogger. Here's a link to the post:  http://afamilysjourney-bridget.blogspot.com/2011/02/update-from-bridget.html

Here he is waving goodbye to me all by himself! I said "tai chin" and he started waving!! SO cute!

Yay!!!

I was so very excited to see this picture this morning:

This is William, his mama, and the orphanage director

This is the first picture I have seen of William with his mom! I love it! I even noticed that he was wearing the shirt I sent for him before his family left for China. It says: "Awesome (and has an arrow pointing to his face) and then underneath that is says: "(see details above)". It's so cute! :)

Tonight, hopefully in about 30 minutes, I get to meet him (on Skype, that counts right?)! I am so excited, and so nervous at the same time, about how it will all work out and what he will understand, etc. But most of all I'm just so very thankful that I get this opportunity! I have been so blessed by his mom's (Bridget) kindness in allowing me to be a part of William's life! It means so much to me! It has been an amazing two years of sponsoring him, and this is the most perfect ending I could have ever dreamed of! He has a family now, I get to continue to watch him grow, and he will even begin to know me as he gets older! God is so unbelievably good, and He gets all the honor for this!!

I'll update later on to let everyone know how it goes, and how William and his family are doing.

Dear William,

Today is the day your family travels to China to get you!!

I'm praying and thinking of you daily as you meet your family, and finally travel back to the United States with them to your new home. I am so very excited for you! It may be hard, at first, to get used to your new life in America, but I know you will do well. You are so smart and charming, I have a feeling everyone that meets you is going to love you!

I can't wait to meet you in person someday soon!

Love, Sharon

"One Less Child Without a Home" (x 2)

Lyrics from the song "One Less" by Mattew West:

"And there's one less, one less broken heart in the world tonight."

I've been following two different adoptions from Shepherd's Field Children's Village over the past couple of days.

Taylor...
...and Susan's...
...families traveled to China and meet their children for the first time last night! It has been so exciting to check their blogs (over and over, haha) and find out how everything is going for them on the other side of the world.

With every new adoption story I follow, I learn more and more. I hope this will help to prepare me for my own adoptions some day. :)

And next weekend I'll be anxiously awaiting to hear from William's family!!!! Ahh, I'm so excited!

2 Weeks!!!

I just can't believe it!
In 2 weeks Tristan (William) will be with his family!!!!

This sweet boy that i've watched grow up for the past 2 years...

...will finally have a mommy and a daddy...

...2 older brothers, and 2 older sisters (one from China)!!

God is so good!!

Again here is the link to their blog: http://afamilysjourney-bridget.blogspot.com/
At the top you will see a countdown that I get so excited about every time I see! :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And just last night I got the email I've been waiting for! Here's what it said:

"Praise God that the child you are sponsoring through Shepherd's Field Children's Village will soon be adopted! We are so happy that Tristan will soon have his own forever family!"

..."You now have the opportunity to sponsor another child in need."

Soooooo, now came the hard part. Choosing another child!! But I have been thinking long and hard about who my next sponsor sweetie will be.... and I did make a decision!

(I'm not going to give anything away just yet!)
Hehe! ;)
